Brushed Chrome to Suit Your Kitchen

Brushed chrome is one of the easiest kitchen finishes to live with. It has the cool colour of chrome without the mirror shine, so it suits almost any colour of unit. Here is how it works with the most popular kitchen schemes.

With stainless steel appliances. The brushed grain of satin chrome is a close match for brushed steel ovens, fridges, extractors and sinks, so the handles blend in rather than stand out. Brushed chrome kitchen handles in Metro, Square Metro or Bar designs keep the look clean.

With painted Shaker units. Satin chrome is softer than polished chrome against sage, grey, navy and cream paint. Use satin chrome cup handles on the drawers and round, Victorian or beehive brushed chrome cupboard knobs on the doors.

With white and handleless kitchens. Choose slim wire or T-bar pulls on a 16mm rose, or fit satin chrome edge pulls to the top edge of the doors so the fronts stay almost plain.

With oak and walnut. The cool tone of satin chrome is a good contrast to warm timber. Wide Metro, Bauhaus and Industrial pulls work well on modern wood kitchens, and Durham, Colonial and Henley Traditional pulls on country ones.

Utility rooms and boot rooms. Use the same handles as the kitchen so the rooms flow together, and add brushed chrome coat hooks for coats and bags.

Bedrooms and bathrooms. The range is not just for kitchens. Satin chrome pulls and knobs suit wardrobes, chests of drawers and bathroom vanity units, and match the satin chrome door handles on the room door.

Choosing the Right Satin Chrome Handle Type

Pull handles, knobs, cup handles and edge pulls each suit a different job. Here is what each one does, and what the satin chrome range offers.

Pull handles. The most versatile choice, comfortable to grip on both doors and drawers. Satin chrome pulls run from 76mm to 480mm fixing centres, and the wire and T-bar pulls come on a neat 16mm rose. D shaped pulls in 89mm, 152mm and 203mm suit a more traditional kitchen.

Knobs. Neat on wall cupboards and small drawers. Seven satin chrome knobs, including Florence knurled, Venetian, diamond cut, domed and disc designs, come on a square backplate that frames the knob for a more substantial look.

T-bar knobs. A short bar that sits between a knob and a pull. The stepped and knurled T-bar knobs come with or without a rose, and the Industrial T-bar knob is 42mm across.

Cup handles. Open from below, the classic choice for Shaker drawers. The Military and Shropshire cup pulls each fit two hole spacings, which makes them handy when replacing old cup handles.

Edge pulls. Fixed to the top or side edge of a door or drawer, so the front stays clear. There are four satin chrome profiles, each in 50mm, 100mm and 200mm lengths.

Texture. For a crafted look, choose the hammered Wide Metro pulls, hammered and hand beaten knobs, or knurled pulls and knobs. Browse every finish in hammered cabinet knobs and knurled cabinet knobs.

More Satin Chrome Kitchen Handle Questions

Can I replace old kitchen handles without drilling new holes?

Measure between the centres of the two screw holes and match it. The Bridge pull is made in 128mm and 160mm and in 192mm and 224mm versions, and the Military and Shropshire cup pulls fit two spacings, so they suit several older hole positions.

What is a knob on a square backplate?

A cabinet knob mounted on a small square plate. The plate frames the knob and gives it a more substantial look. Seven satin chrome knobs come this way.

Are there textured satin chrome kitchen handles?

Yes. There are hammered Wide Metro pulls, hammered and hand beaten knobs, and knurled pulls, knobs and T-bar knobs.

Which satin chrome handles suit a handleless look?

Edge pulls, which fix to the edge of the door or drawer. There are 15 in four profiles, in 50mm, 100mm and 200mm lengths.

Do satin chrome kitchen handles suit wardrobes and bathroom units?

Yes. The pulls, knobs and cup handles work on any cabinet door or drawer, so bedrooms and bathrooms can match the kitchen.
