What size kitchen cupboard handles do I need?
Pull handles are sized by the distance between the two fixing holes, called the centres (CTC). When replacing handles, measure between the centres of the existing holes and choose the same size so no new holes are needed.

Should I choose knobs or pull handles?
Knobs suit smaller doors and traditional kitchens. Pull handles are easier to grip on drawers and heavy doors. Many kitchens use pull handles on drawers and knobs on doors, in the same design and finish.

What are cup pulls?
Cup pulls are curved, hooded handles that you pull from underneath. They are a classic choice for drawers on shaker and period-style kitchens, and often sit alongside matching knobs on the doors.

What is an edge pull?
An edge pull fixes to the top or side edge of a cabinet door or drawer, so only a slim lip shows on the front. It gives a near-handleless look.

Do M.Marcus handles come with screws?
Heritage Brass cabinet handles and knobs are supplied with fixing screws. If your doors or drawer fronts are thicker than standard, check the screw length before fitting.

Which finish is best for a kitchen?
Satin and matt finishes such as satin brass, satin nickel, matt bronze and matt black show fewer fingerprints than polished finishes. Unlacquered brass will darken with handling over time.

Replacing Kitchen Cupboard Handles

  • Measure the centres: pull handles are sized by the distance between the two fixing holes (CTC). Match the old size and you will not need new holes.
  • Count every door and drawer: list how many handles and knobs you need for each size before ordering, including larders and end panels.
  • Check the screws: handles come with fixing screws, but if your doors or drawer fronts are thicker than standard, check the screw length first.

Choosing a Kitchen Handle Finish

Satin brass and antique brass are the warm brass looks, and suit shaker and painted kitchens. Matt bronze and matt black work well on darker cabinets and in modern kitchens. Satin nickel and polished chrome sit with stainless steel appliances and taps.

Satin and matt finishes show fewer fingerprints than polished ones. Unlacquered brass has no protective coating, so it darkens and develops a patina where it is handled.
