From The Anvil Light Switches and Sockets

Black, Black Nickel and Stainless Steel Switches and Sockets

From The Anvil makes its switches and sockets to sit alongside its ironmongery and pendant lighting, so the plates on the wall match the door handles, hinges and latches in the room. Every plate is flat and 7mm deep, in three finishes: Matt Black, Black Nickel and Satin Stainless Steel.

The range covers the whole house, from 10 amp light switches in one to four gangs and LED dimmer switches to 13 amp plug sockets, fused spurs, cooker switches, a fan isolator, a dual volt shaver socket, TV, telephone and Sky Plus sockets, and blank plates.

Buying Guide

How to Choose From The Anvil Switches and Sockets

Plan the whole room at once, so every plate on the wall is the same finish. These are the main things to check.

1. The finish: choose matt black for black ironmongery, black nickel for Beeswax pieces, or satin stainless steel for pewter, nickel and chrome finishes.

2. Light switches: count the lights on each plate, from single to quad light switches. Add an intermediate switch for a third switching point on a landing, or choose LED dimmer switches for dimmable pendants.

3. Sockets and spurs: single or double plug sockets for general use, and fused spurs for fixed appliances. Kitchens may also need a cooker switch.

4. Bathrooms and media: a dual volt shaver socket, a fan isolator switch for the extractor fan, and TV and telephone sockets where needed.

5. Spare back boxes: cover them with a matching blank plate, in matt black or black nickel.
