York Rim Night Latches in 40mm and 60mm Backsets

A night latch (also called a rim latch or cylinder night latch) is the surface-mounted latch on the inside of a front door that locks automatically when the door closes and opens from outside with a key. The York Security night latches from M.Marcus come in finishes that most standard night latches do not, so you can match the inside of your front door to your Heritage Brass door furniture.

40mm or 60mm backset?

• 60mm standard - the most common size for UK front doors with a wide enough stile
• 40mm narrow - for narrow stile doors and doors with glazing close to the edge
• Measure from the door edge to the centre of the existing cylinder hole to confirm

Standard or roller bolt?

The standard night latch uses a sprung bevelled latch. The roller bolt version holds the door closed with a roller, so the door can be pushed open and pulled shut without operating the latch, which is handy on busy entrance doors.
