What are double coat hooks used for?

Double coat hooks are used to hang coats, hats, scarves, bags, and accessories using two prongs for better storage and weight distribution. They're ideal for hallways, cloakrooms, bedrooms, offices, and hospitality settings.

Are double coat hooks suitable for heavy coats and bags?

Yes. Many double coat hooks are suitable for heavier items, especially designs with a sturdy backplate and strong fixings. For heavier loads, fit into solid timber or masonry using the correct wall plugs/screws.

Can double coat hooks be fitted to plasterboard walls?

They can be fitted to plasterboard if you use appropriate plasterboard fixings or mount the hook into a stud or a timber batten for extra strength. This is especially important for heavy coats or bags.

Which finish is best for double coat hooks in bathrooms?

For bathrooms, moisture-resistant finishes such as polished chrome, satin nickel, or other durable plated finishes are popular choices. For consistent styling, match the hook finish with other ironmongery in the room.

How high should double coat hooks be installed?

A common fitting height in UK homes is around 1500-1700mm from the floor for adult use. For children's rooms or schools, a lower height may be more suitable depending on the age group and use case.
