The From The Anvil Aged Brass Oval Euro Escutcheon is part of the From The Anvil escutcheons range. From The Anvil's vast range of escutcheons are used to decorate key holes, adding the finishing touch to any locking door. Match the escutcheon to the lock type: a standard keyhole for lever mortice locks, or a euro escutcheon for euro cylinder locks.

Aged Brass Finish

A popular choice for Period homes and interiors; From The Anvil's Aged Brass finish offers a characterful warmth and works beautifully, creating a real statement when used with deep, dark paint colours, and materials & textiles synonymous with luxury and abundance.

Manufactured from solid, unlacquered Brass, the From The Anvil Aged Brass products undergo an accelerated ageing process before surface areas are repolished, creating a striking contrast between the darker patina left around the edges and recesses, and brighter surface areas. As an unlacquered, 'living' finish Aged Brass will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish on surface areas.

The Oval Euro Escutcheon is also made in Satin Brass, Burnished Brass, Black, Pewter Patina, Satin Chrome, Polished Bronze, External Beeswax, Polished Chrome, Aged Bronze, Polished Brass and Polished Nickel.

Care and Maintenance

This finish will continue to oxidise and age as it is an unlacquered finish, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes tarnished or too dark, it can be restored to brighten the finish. From The Anvil recommends polishing with a dry cloth or alternatively using the From The Anvil 'Brasso' (73102), which assists with the cleaning of solid brass products.

An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements.

To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, From The Anvil recommends regular oiling of all moving parts using the From The Anvil '3-in-1 Oil' (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
