From The Anvil Black Door Knobs

Black and Matt Black Mortice and Rim Knobs

Black door knobs suit cottage, farmhouse and modern interiors alike. From The Anvil makes black knobs in two finishes. Its Blacksmith Oval, Round, Octagonal, Regency and Flower knobs come in Black, the Brompton knob comes in Black and Matt Black, and the Heavy Beehive knob comes in Matt Black.

From The Anvil recommends Black for damp conditions, so black knobs can be used on outside doors as well as inside. Most designs are mortice/rim knob sets, supplied as loose parts so you can build them to suit your door: use both roses for a mortice knob on a mortice latch or lock, or one rose for a rim knob on a rim lock. The majority of From The Anvil mortice and rim knobs are unsprung, so they rely on the spring in the lock or latch to return the knob. Check each product page, and From The Anvil recommends a 3, 4 or 5 inch heavy duty latch or lock.

Black Door Knobs: Questions

Can black door knobs be used outside?

From The Anvil recommends its Black finish where damp conditions are expected, so black knobs can be fitted to outside doors as well as internal doors.

What is the difference between Black and Matt Black?

Black is the finish on From The Anvil's hand forged Blacksmith knobs, with a subtle sheen, and is also offered on the Brompton. Matt Black is a flat black finish, used on its Brompton and Heavy Beehive knobs.
