Black Flat and Raised Bookcase Strip with Shelf Studs

From The Anvil bookcase strip gives adjustable shelving a traditional look. The flat strip is fitted flush into a pre-machined stepped groove, so shelves fit flush to the inside of the shelving bay. The raised strip, often called Top Hat section, is surface fitted and its wide flanges make it suitable for steel cabinets too.

Both are 1.83m long in Black, with matching single and double studs for each type, sold individually. The strips are supplied without fixing screws; see the matching screws.

Which studs fit which strip?

The studs are made for one type of strip: use the flat studs with the flat strip and the raised studs with the raised strip.

How much shorter should the shelves be?

With the raised strip, From The Anvil says the shelf length must be at least 7mm shorter than the internal width of the cabinet.
