From The Anvil Bronze Door Handles on Backplate

Aged Bronze and Polished Bronze Lever Handles on Backplate

From The Anvil bronze door handles on backplate are made from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. Aged Bronze is a dark, matt finish with warm undertones, like an antique bronze, and is one of From The Anvil's most popular finishes. Polished Bronze is aged and then repolished, giving bright surfaces with a darker patina in the recesses.

Both finishes are lacquered during manufacture to help protect them. Choose lock door handles for a sash lock or deadlock, latch door handles for a tubular latch, bathroom door handles with a built-in turn, euro lock door handles for a euro cylinder, or multipoint door handles for uPVC and composite doors.

Bronze Door Handles on Backplate: Questions

What is the difference between aged bronze and polished bronze?

Aged Bronze is dark and matt with warm undertones. Polished Bronze is aged and then repolished, so it is bright and reflective with a darker patina in the details. Both are made from solid bronze.

Do bronze door handles need special care?

From The Anvil lacquers its Aged Bronze and Polished Bronze during manufacture. It recommends oiling the moving parts with 3-in-1 oil when you fit them and from time to time after that, and wiping the handles over with an oily cloth now and then for extra protection.

Trade Door Handles is part of T.H. Wiggans Ironmongery, an independent architectural ironmonger trading since 1976, with showrooms in Kendal and Carlisle. We have stocked From The Anvil for decades, and both showrooms have From The Anvil displays, so you can see and handle the finishes before you order.
