The From The Anvil Polished Bronze Oval Escutcheon & Cover is part of the From The Anvil escutcheons range. From The Anvil's vast range of escutcheons are used to decorate key holes, adding the finishing touch to any locking door. Match the escutcheon to the lock type: a standard keyhole for lever mortice locks, or a euro escutcheon for euro cylinder locks.

Polished Bronze Finish

Polished Bronze is a bright, highly reflective finish with an abundance of character and warmth. This finish really pops when used in contemporary settings with bold colourways, adding visual interest and contrast.

From The Anvil's Polished Bronze is manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. The finish is first aged, then repolished to create subtle contrast between the lighter surface areas and darker patina which gathers around the edges and recesses. To preserve the bright, reflective finish a durable lacquer is applied during the final stages of manufacturing. Bronze will naturally darken over time, however the bright reflective finish can be restored by polishing with a beeswax based furniture polish if desired.

The Oval Escutcheon & Cover is also made in Pewter Patina, Satin Chrome, Aged Bronze, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel, Aged Brass, Polished Brass, External Beeswax, Black and Beeswax.

Care and Maintenance

From The Anvil advises against the use of chemicals, and other harsh cleaning products on this finish as it may affect the lacquer.

From The Anvil recommends using a dry cloth, or a beeswax based furniture polish to restore shine as the Bronze will naturally tarnish and darken over. This will help remove dirt, fingerprints and watermarks, while offering some protection.

An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements.

To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, From The Anvil recommends regular oiling of all moving parts using the From The Anvil '3-in-1 Oil' (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
