The From The Anvil Polished Brass Traditional Letterbox is part of the From The Anvil letter plates and flaps range. From The Anvil's door letterbox is supplied as a full kit and contains a tunnel and brushes to reduce draughts and insulate the door. The inner sleeve also protects the door from moisture and helps to mask the aperture cutting. From The Anvil recommends the From The Anvil door letterbox for composite and uPVC doors. Check the size of your existing letter plate cut out, or the space on a new door, before you order.

Polished Brass Finish

Polished Brass is a simplistic, classic finish most synonymous with use in traditional period properties and interiors, yet works well paired with light colours and subtle textural details to achieve a luxurious, more modern aesthetic.

From The Anvil's Polished Brass products are manufactured from solid, unlacquered brass. Bright and reflective when polished, although as an unlacquered, 'living' finish it will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish.

The Traditional Letterbox is also made in Burnished Brass, Aged Brass, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel, Aged Bronze, Polished Marine SS (316), Satin Marine SS (316), Pewter Patina, Black, Matt Black, Satin Brass and External Beeswax.

Care and Maintenance

This finish will continue to oxidise and age as it is an unlacquered finish, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes tarnished or too dark, it can be restored to brighten the finish. From The Anvil recommends polishing with a dry cloth or alternatively using the From The Anvil 'Brasso' (73102), which assists with the cleaning of solid brass products.

An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements.

To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, From The Anvil recommends regular oiling of all moving parts using the From The Anvil '3-in-1 Oil' (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
