From The Anvil Wooden Door Knobs

Ebony and Rosewood Mortice/Rim Knobs

From The Anvil wooden door knobs are made from solid timber in two finishes. Ebony is rosewood darkened by a traditional technique, and Rosewood is waxed to bring out its rich red hue. They are a warm, tactile choice for cottages and period homes.

Choose the Cottage knob, the Bun knob with a Polished Brass or Polished Nickel rose, the wooden Beehive knob with an Aged Brass, Polished Brass or Polished Nickel rose, or the Ringed knob. The majority of From The Anvil mortice and rim knobs are unsprung, so they rely on the spring in the lock or latch to return the knob. Check each product page, and From The Anvil recommends a 3, 4 or 5 inch heavy duty latch or lock.

Wooden Door Knobs: Questions

What is the difference between Ebony and Rosewood?

From The Anvil makes Ebony by darkening rosewood with a traditional technique, giving a deep, dark knob. Rosewood is waxed to keep its rich red hue.

Is there a matching escutcheon for locking doors?

From The Anvil says the Cottage knob can be matched with its Beehive escutcheon, and the Bun knob with its plain escutcheon, if the door needs to lock.
