Where Satin Chrome Works Best

A finish for hands-on rooms. Satin chrome has fine brushed lines that soften the shine, and M.Marcus notes that it resists fingerprints. That makes it a practical choice for the doors and cupboards that get handled most, from the kitchen and utility room to busy hallways.

Kitchens first. Kitchen and cabinet hardware is the biggest part of this finish. There are brushed chrome kitchen handles in Metro, Wide Metro, Square Metro, Bauhaus, Durham, Apollo, Deco, Hex, Phoenix and Industrial designs, plus T-bar, wire and bridge pulls, and brushed chrome cabinet knobs from simple round and ball shapes to Victorian, Beehive and reeded styles.

Shaker and painted cabinets. On Shaker drawers, satin chrome cup handles such as the Military and Shropshire designs give a traditional look, while satin chrome edge pulls sit on the top edge of a door for a near handleless kitchen.

Boot rooms and hallways. Hang coats and bags on satin chrome coat hooks, from knurled and ball hooks to angular hat and coat hooks, or the larger cabin hooks in 8, 10 and 12 inch sizes.

Choosing and Caring for Satin Chrome

Satin chrome or polished chrome? They share the same cool silver colour. Polished chrome is a bright mirror, while satin chrome is brushed to a softer sheen. Choose satin chrome where you want a quieter look, or mix the two, for example polished chrome in a bathroom and satin chrome in the kitchen.

Hinges for every door. The satin chrome hinges include butt hinges with phosphor washers or double phosphor washers, thrust bearing hinges, parliament hinges and small cabinet hinges.
