Heritage Brass - Satin Nickel

Satin Nickel Door Handles, Kitchen Handles and Ironmongery

Heritage Brass satin nickel is a brushed nickel finish with a soft, low sheen and a slightly warmer grey tone than satin chrome. M.Marcus makes it across Heritage Brass door handles, door knobs, door furniture, window furniture, kitchen and cabinet hardware, hinges and accessories, so you can fit satin nickel lever handles, mortice knobs, hinges, window fasteners, cupboard handles and coat hooks that all match. It suits modern and contemporary homes, grey and white kitchens and bathrooms, and works alongside stainless steel appliances and brushed nickel taps.

Satin Nickel or Satin Chrome?

Both are brushed, low sheen finishes that show fewer fingerprints than polished finishes. Satin nickel has a slightly warmer, softer grey tone, while satin chrome is cooler and brighter. If you are matching existing hardware, choose the same finish throughout, as the two look different side by side. Compare with Heritage Brass satin chrome, or for a mirror shine in a nickel tone, see Heritage Brass polished nickel.

Caring for the Lacquered Satin Nickel Finish

Satin nickel is one of the Heritage Brass lacquered finishes, protected by a clear lacquer. All lacquered finishes will eventually break down over time, and this happens sooner on products exposed to the weather, particularly in coastal areas and polluted environments. Regularly removing dirt and watermarks with a non-abrasive cloth helps the finish last. On external fittings, a light coat of non-abrasive wax will protect the lacquer and could extend its life, and a periodic light oiling of springs and moving parts helps too. Do not use metal cleaners or aerosol sprays, as these will damage the lacquer. The life of the lacquer is beyond the manufacturer's control, so it cannot be guaranteed.
