Explore the From The Anvil – Beeswax Window Furniture Collection

Discover traditional craftsmanship with our From The Anvil – Beeswax Window Furniture Collection – a curated selection of hand-forged steel window fittings finished in classic beeswax. Designed primarily for internal use, this rustic window hardware is ideal for period homes, cottages, barn conversions and character renovations where an authentic, blacksmith-made look matters.

What is beeswax window furniture?

Beeswax window furniture is typically made from traditional forged steel and then finished by dipping in hot wax. The result is a subtle, matte appearance that highlights the steel’s natural tones and adds a warm, heritage feel to interiors. As a wax-based finish, it’s best suited to dry internal environments and benefits from gentle, routine care to keep it looking its best.

What you’ll find in this collection

This collection includes popular window hardware styles from the From The Anvil Blacksmith range, including: sash window fasteners and lifts, casement window stays and fasteners, plus fanlight hardware such as roller arms and quadrant stays. Many items are available in locking and non-locking options, helping you match the right security level to the room and window type.

Where beeswax finishes work best

Beeswax is a superb choice for interiors where you want a natural, traditional finish—especially in bedrooms, lounges, hallways and renovated period spaces. If you’re fitting hardware in areas with higher moisture (for example some bathrooms, utility spaces or poorly ventilated rooms), you may prefer a more corrosion-resistant finish. If you’re unsure, tell us your window type and room conditions and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Choosing the right fittings

For best results, match the fitting to your window style: sash fasteners and lifts for vertical sliding windows, and stays/fasteners for outward-opening casements. Consider the fixing points, handedness, and clearance behind curtains or shutters. If you’re replacing like-for-like, measure the existing hardware and fixing centres before ordering.
