The From The Anvil Aged Brass 8" Cabin Hook is part of the From The Anvil cabin hooks range. From The Anvil's range of cabin hooks are designed for safely holding doors and windows in an open position, but can also be used to secure shutters, cupboards and more. Measure the gap between the door or window and the wall or frame where the eye will sit, and choose a hook that spans it.

Aged Brass Finish

A popular choice for Period homes and interiors; From The Anvil's Aged Brass finish offers a characterful warmth and works beautifully, creating a real statement when used with deep, dark paint colours, and materials & textiles synonymous with luxury and abundance.

Manufactured from solid, unlacquered Brass, the From The Anvil Aged Brass products undergo an accelerated ageing process before surface areas are repolished, creating a striking contrast between the darker patina left around the edges and recesses, and brighter surface areas. As an unlacquered, 'living' finish Aged Brass will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish on surface areas.

The 8" Cabin Hook is also made in Satin Brass, Polished Nickel, Polished Chrome, Polished Brass, Matt Black and Aged Bronze.

Care and Maintenance

This finish will continue to oxidise and age as it is an unlacquered finish, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes tarnished or too dark, it can be restored to brighten the finish. From The Anvil recommends polishing with a dry cloth or alternatively using the From The Anvil 'Brasso' (73102), which assists with the cleaning of solid brass products.

An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements.

To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, From The Anvil recommends regular oiling of all moving parts using the From The Anvil '3-in-1 Oil' (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
