The From The Anvil 18" Penny End T Hinge in Pewter Patina is a hand-forged T hinge for ledged plank doors, the traditional alternative to butt hinges, usually used with a Suffolk latch. It is sold as a pair. From The Anvil recommends a pair and a half (three hinges) for heavier doors.

About the Design

When opened, a T hinge has the appearance of the letter 'T'. An alternative to butt hinges, T hinges are usually used in conjunction with a Suffolk latch on traditional plank doors.

Pewter Patina products undergo an accelerated ageing process, creating a dark patina before being placed into barrelling machines, giving them the unique finish. During the final stages of manufacturing, a high quality, clear matt lacquer is applied for protection. A low maintenance finish, ideal for use in kitchens and bathrooms, or externally where damp conditions are expected.

An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements.

To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using our '3-in-1 Oil' (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
