From The Anvil Polished Brass Door Knobs

Bright Polished Brass Mortice and Rim Knobs

Polished Brass is the bright, classic brass finish for period properties. From The Anvil makes it in solid, unlacquered brass, so it darkens with age and can be polished back to its original shine.

Polished Brass knobs come in Brompton on four rose styles, Heavy Beehive, Mushroom in two sizes, Ball and Oval, plus wooden Beehive knobs with a Polished Brass rose. Most designs are mortice/rim knob sets, supplied as loose parts so you can build them to suit your door: use both roses for a mortice knob on a mortice latch or lock, or one rose for a rim knob on a rim lock. The majority of From The Anvil mortice and rim knobs are unsprung, so they rely on the spring in the lock or latch to return the knob. Check each product page, and From The Anvil recommends a 3, 4 or 5 inch heavy duty latch or lock.

Polished Brass Door Knobs: Questions

Is Polished Brass lacquered?

No. From The Anvil makes Polished Brass in solid, unlacquered brass, so it is a living finish that darkens with age and can be polished back.

What is the difference between Polished Brass and Aged Brass?

Polished Brass is bright and reflective. Aged Brass is aged and repolished so a darker patina stays in the recesses, for an antique look.
