From The Anvil Rim Knobs

Rim Lock Knobs and Mortice/Rim Knob Sets

A rim knob is the door knob used with a rim lock or rim latch, the surface-mounted lock box found on cottage, period and ledged doors. From The Anvil mortice/rim knob sets are supplied as loose parts, so the same set can be built as a rim knob or a mortice knob. For a rim lock you use one rose, and for a mortice latch or lock you use both roses.

The majority of From The Anvil mortice and rim knobs are unsprung, so they rely on the spring in the lock or latch to return the knob. Check each product page, and From The Anvil recommends a 3, 4 or 5 inch heavy duty latch or lock. Each set uses an 8mm spindle. The Oval, Round, Octagonal and Regency Blacksmith knobs also come with a loose collar, so they can be fitted flush to the door or used with a rim lock.
