External Beeswax Finish

Our External Beeswax finish aesthetically is the same as Beeswax; A traditional finish with a soft, natural look featuring subtle blue and deep red ochre tones which are preserved in the steel during the manufacturing process. This finish is ideally suited to older, traditional dwellings and cottage interiors. Our External Beeswax products are hand forged from mild steel. The weather-resistant external beeswax finish used on the From The Anvil Avon Escutcheon in External Beeswax is applied by skilled craftspeople to ensure a consistent, durable result that maintains its character over time.

Care & Maintenance

Due to temperature changes or packaging, a Beeswax product may occasionally show signs of a white bloom upon opening. This can be buffed with a soft cloth to remove. Although this finish already offers a very strong barrier against environmental conditions, we recommend re-applying a small amount of our 'Maintenance Wax' (33002) periodically with a cloth or brush which provides additional protection to the surface of your product and further protects this from any harmful external elements. To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using our '3-in-1 Oil' (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation. *Please note that where possible we recommend using our External Beeswax products (in place of standard Beeswax) in areas of your property where damp conditions are expected such as kitchens and bathrooms. Light surface rust may appear if using our standard Beeswax finish in damp conditions but can be removed with ease using 00 grade wire wool, followed by an application of 'Maintenance Wax' (33002).
