Most fixed power Size 3 door closers are supplied with a Fig. 66 parallel arm bracket, which is typically used in applications where the closer is installed on the push side of the door. However, using a Fig. 66 bracket reduces the effective closing strength of the door closer. For this reason, it should only be used on non-fire rated doors.

If you require a Fig. 66 bracket for a fire door, it is essential to upgrade to a minimum Size 2–4 adjustable closer to ensure compliance with fire safety standards and maintain sufficient closing force.
