Brass window stays suit period homes and timber casement windows. From The Anvil makes its stays in Aged Brass and Polished Brass, which are unlacquered living finishes, and in Satin Brass and Burnished Brass, which are lacquered. Designs include Avon, Brompton, Newbury, Reeded, Hinton, Art Deco, Monkeytail and Peardrop.

Pair the stay with casement fasteners or locking window handles in the same design and finish, and add a locking stay pin from the stay pins for extra security.

Will a brass window stay tarnish?

Aged Brass and Polished Brass are unlacquered, so they darken over time and can be polished. Satin Brass and Burnished Brass are lacquered.

Is there an antique brass window stay?

Yes. Aged Brass has an antique look, with darker recesses and brighter repolished surfaces.
