Weather Thresholds for Inward and Outward Opening Doors

From The Anvil door thresholds seal the gap under an external door, in Black, Gold and Aluminium so the threshold matches the door furniture above it. From The Anvil pairs Black with its black and matt black ironmongery, Gold with its Aged and Polished Brass, and Aluminium with Pewter, Polished Nickel, Polished Chrome and Satin Chrome.

The OUM/6 and OUM/4 thresholds are for outward opening doors, with an under-door clearance of 15mm and 12mm, and are suitable for severely exposed locations. The Macclex 15/56 and 15/2 thresholds are for inward opening doors with a 13mm clearance, for doors 56mm or more and 44mm thick. All accept an MWK striker block for flush bolts in double doors and are suitable for wheelchairs.

Which threshold do I need?

Start with the way the door opens. For outward opening doors choose the OUM/6 (15mm under-door clearance, ideal for double doors 56mm or more thick) or the OUM/4 (12mm clearance). For inward opening doors choose the Macclex 15/56 for doors 56mm or more thick or the 15/2 for 44mm doors, both with a 13mm clearance.

What length do I need?

From The Anvil makes its thresholds in lengths from 914mm to 3000mm. Measure the width of your door opening and choose the nearest length above it. If you are unsure, contact us with the opening width and door type and we will help you choose.
