Heritage Brass Door Flush Pulls

Flush Pull Handles and Edge Pulls for Sliding and Pocket Doors

Heritage Brass door flush pulls by M.Marcus, the British door hardware maker founded in 1940, are recessed flush pull handles made from solid brass for sliding doors and pocket doors. Because the pull sits flush with the door face, nothing catches as the door slides past the frame or into the wall. The range covers face flush pulls, pocket door edge pulls, combined edge and flush pulls, and complete flush pull privacy sets with a lock.

Trade Door Handles is the online shop of T.H. Wiggans Ironmongery, trading since 1976. Our Kendal and Carlisle showrooms carry a large Heritage Brass display, and we help joiners, builders and homeowners put together the right pulls and locks for every sliding and pocket door.

Flush Pulls, Edge Pulls and Privacy Sets

Sliding door flush pulls fit into the face of the door, one on each side, so you can slide it open and closed. Pocket door edge pulls fit into the leading edge of the door, so when it is fully inside the wall you can draw it back out. The C1874 edge pull and flush pull does both jobs in one fitting. For bathrooms and bedrooms, choose a pocket door privacy set, which pairs flush pulls with a hook lock and a turn and release, such as the C1877 flush pull privacy set. For hinged doors, the C1862 offset flush pull is made for swing doors.

Flush Pull Styles

Rectangular flush pulls are the most popular flush pull handle, from the compact C1850 105mm flush pull and the screw fixed C1820 flush pull to the C1855 rectangular flush pull in 105, 175 and 300mm. Round flush pulls include the C1835 round flush pull and the C1845 half moon flush pull. Square flush pulls suit modern doors, and reeded flush pulls such as the C1865 reeded rectangular and C1837 round reeded match the Heritage Brass reeded door handles. For a small pull, see our flush ring pulls and the push fit Italian sliding door flush pull pairs.

Heritage Brass Flush Pull Questions

What is the difference between a flush pull and an edge pull?
A flush pull is recessed into the face of a sliding or pocket door so you can slide it open and closed. An edge pull fits into the leading edge of a pocket door, so when the door is fully inside the wall you can hook a finger in and draw it back out.

Do I need an edge pull on a pocket door?
Yes, if the door slides fully into the wall. Once it is inside the pocket, the face flush pulls are hidden, so an edge pull is the only way to pull it out again. The C1874 edge pull and flush pull does both jobs in one fitting.

Can I lock a pocket door?
Yes. A pocket door privacy set combines flush pulls with a hook lock, so you can turn it from inside and release it from outside in an emergency. It is the usual choice for bathroom and bedroom pocket doors.

How are flush pulls fitted?
Most Heritage Brass flush pulls are recessed into a routed or drilled pocket in the door face and screwed in place, so only about 2.5mm projects. The round and square pull pairs push fit into a drilled hole. Check the routing size on each product page before cutting the door.

What finishes are available?
Antique brass, satin brass, polished brass, matt bronze, polished chrome, satin nickel and satin chrome, with polished nickel and matt black on many designs, so flush pulls, edge pulls and locks can all match.

What You Need for a Pocket Door

A pocket door or sliding door usually needs three things: a flush pull on each face, a way to get the door back out of the pocket, and, on bathrooms and bedrooms, a lock.

1. Flush pulls for each face: choose sliding door flush pulls to suit the size of the door. A 300mm rectangular flush pull gives a good grip on tall doors, while round and square flush pulls suit smaller doors and cupboards.

2. An edge pull: if the door slides fully into the wall, fit a pocket door edge pull in the leading edge so you can draw it back out. The C1874 edge pull and flush pull combines both in one fitting.

3. A privacy lock: for bathroom, en suite and bedroom pocket doors, choose a pocket door privacy set with a hook lock and turn and release, in round or square styles, or the rectangular C1877 flush pull privacy set.

Flush Pull Sizing and Fitting Questions

What size flush pull do I need for a pocket door?

For a standard internal pocket door, a 175mm or 197mm rectangular flush pull is a comfortable size. Go up to 300mm on tall or heavy doors, or choose a round or square flush pull for a neater look on narrow doors. Check the door thickness against the routing depth on the product page.

Can I use flush pulls on cupboard doors?

Yes. Smaller flush pulls such as the C1850 105mm flush pull work well on sliding wardrobe and cupboard doors. For kitchen units, see our Heritage Brass cabinet flush pulls.

Do flush pulls come in matt black?

Yes. Many Heritage Brass flush pulls, edge pulls and privacy sets come in matt black. See all matt black flush pulls.
