Heavy Duty Tubular Deadbolts for Bathroom Thumbturns

A tubular deadbolt is a small bolt in a round tube, morticed into the edge of the door and thrown by a thumbturn rather than a key. It is a simple way to make a bathroom or cloakroom door lockable while keeping a standard latch and handles.

From The Anvil heavy duty tubular deadbolts come in 2 1/2, 3, 4 and 5 inch sizes and work with all its bathroom thumbturns and the 5mm spindle. They are CERTIFIRE approved, fire tested to FD-20/30/60, performance tested against BS EN 12209, and UKCA and CE marked.

Which size tubular deadbolt do I need?

A common approach is to match the case size of the latch on the same door, so the thumbturn lines up with the handle. From The Anvil makes them in 2 1/2, 3, 4 and 5 inch.

Can these locks be used on fire doors?

Many can. From The Anvil sash locks, deadlocks, latches and bathroom locks marked CERTIFIRE (certificate CF5531) are fire tested to FD-20/30/60. Intumescent packs rated FD60 are also available for each lock type.
