Heritage Brass Covered Escutcheons

Covered Keyhole Escutcheons with Swing Cover

A covered escutcheon has a pivoting cover plate that swings over the keyhole, keeping out draughts and prying eyes. It is the traditional finish for mortice sashlocks and deadlocks on period internal and external doors.

What is in this collection

  • V1020 round covered escutcheon, 33mm diameter
  • V1022 oval covered escutcheon, 59 x 20mm
  • V1023 round covered keyhole, 32mm
  • V972 reeded covered escutcheon, 33mm - matches reeded door furniture
  • Porcelain covered escutcheons in plain white, gold line, white crackle and cream crackle, 63 x 21mm - match porcelain door furniture

Finishes and materials

The metal escutcheons are made from solid brass and are available in Antique Brass, Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel, Satin Brass, Satin Chrome and Satin Nickel. Polished Nickel is an uncoated finish with a warm golden hue that will develop a gentle patina unless buffed regularly with a soft cloth. Matt Bronze is an aged finish that will lighten naturally on edges and frequently touched areas, revealing the brass beneath over time. Antique Brass has russet hues over a brass undertone for a warm, mature look that suits period homes. Always choose all your door furniture from the same brand and finish to guarantee an exact colour match.
