Heritage Brass Doctor Door Knockers

Doctor Style Door Knocker in Solid Brass

The doctor knocker is a heavy knocker on a long, narrow backplate, traditionally fitted to the doctor's front door so its deep knock could be heard through the house. Its narrow shape also suits front doors with narrow stiles or glazed panels, where a larger knocker would not fit.

What is in this collection

• K1300 doctors door knocker - 192 x 43mm backplate, 55mm knob
• Slim profile fits narrow door stiles
• Solid brass, in nine finishes including Polished Nickel and Unlacquered Brass
• Coordinates with Heritage Brass bell pushes and letter plates

Shop doctors knockers by finish in brass door knockers or antique brass door knockers, or compare every period shape in our Victorian door knockers. Complete the door with a matching centre door knob, letter plate and house numbers.

Finishes and materials

Products in this collection are made from solid brass and are available in Antique Brass, Matt Bronze, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel, Satin Brass, Satin Chrome, Satin Nickel and Unlacquered Brass. Polished Nickel is an uncoated finish with a warm golden hue that will develop a gentle patina unless buffed regularly with a soft cloth. Matt Bronze is an aged finish that will lighten naturally on edges and frequently touched areas, revealing the brass beneath over time. Antique Brass has russet hues over a brass undertone for a warm, mature look that suits period homes. Always choose all your door furniture from the same brand and finish to guarantee an exact colour match.
