Heavy Duty Brass Door Bolts for External Doors

Heavy duty door bolts are the widest, heaviest bolts in the Heritage Brass range, for external doors, garage and shed doors, gates and the top and bottom of double doors. This collection brings together the 1.5 inch (38mm) wide straight and necked barrel bolts and the 6 and 8 inch flat section bolts, all in solid brass by M.Marcus.

Choosing a Size

Choose a 6 or 8 inch bolt for full height and external doors, fitted at the top and bottom of the door. For cupboards and light doors, see small door bolts.

Straight or Cranked Door Bolt?

A straight door bolt is used where the door closes flush with the frame, so the bolt and keep sit on the same flat surface. A cranked door bolt, also called a necked bolt, has a step in the neck so the keep can be fixed to a frame that sits at a different level, as on most rebated doors. For double doors and French doors, flush bolts are recessed into the door so nothing projects.

Shop brass door bolts, chrome door bolts or an exact finish: polished brass, satin brass, antique brass, matt bronze, polished chrome, satin chrome, satin nickel, polished nickel.
