Heritage Brass Reeded Sash Fasteners

Reeded Sash Window Fasteners in Solid Brass

The Heritage Brass reeded sash fastener is a hook plate fastener with a fluted, ribbed knob. The reeded detail suits period sash windows and also works well with contemporary reeded door handles and cabinet hardware. It comes in a standard and a lockable version, each in nine finishes including unlacquered brass. Part of the Heritage Brass sash window fasteners range.

Standard or Lockable

• Reeded hook plate sash fastener (V1104): 70mm long and 20mm wide.
• Lockable reeded hook plate sash fastener (V1104L): the same design with a key lock.

Reeded Sash Fastener Questions

What does reeded mean?
Reeded describes a surface with fine parallel grooves or ribs. On the Heritage Brass reeded sash fastener the knob is fluted, which adds texture and grip.

Are lockable sash fasteners a security lock?
The lockable Heritage Brass fasteners lock with a key, so the sashes cannot be released from inside without it. They are not insurance rated window locks, so for ground floor or easily reached windows add a pair of locking sash stops as well.

Will unlacquered brass sash window furniture tarnish?
Yes, by design. Unlacquered brass has no protective coating, so it darkens and develops a natural patina over time. Polish it with brass polish to keep it bright, or leave it to age.
