Heritage Brass - Satin Nickel Door Furniture

Satin Nickel Door Handles, Knockers and Door Furniture by Heritage Brass

Heritage Brass satin nickel door furniture covers everything for internal and front doors in one finish: lever handles, mortice knobs, pull handles, bathroom thumb turns, door knockers, letter plates, house numbers, escutcheons, finger plates, door stops and bolts. Satin nickel is a brushed nickel finish with a soft, low sheen and a slightly warmer grey tone than satin chrome. It is one of the Heritage Brass lacquered finishes, so wipe it with a non-abrasive cloth and never use metal cleaners or aerosol sprays, which damage the lacquer. All lacquered finishes eventually break down, sooner on external doors and in coastal areas, and the life of the lacquer cannot be guaranteed.

Satin Nickel Door Furniture Questions

What satin nickel door furniture is available?
Lever handles on backplates and roses, mortice knobs, pull handles, bathroom thumb turns, door knockers, letter plates, house numbers, escutcheons, finger plates, door stops, bolts and flush pulls, all in Heritage Brass satin nickel.

Do the door handles come with a lock or latch?
No. Heritage Brass door handles are sold without locks or latches. See the York Security range by M.Marcus for locks and latches to go behind them.

Which handle do I need for a bathroom door?
Choose a bathroom lock handle on a backplate with a matching bathroom lock, or a lever on rose with a separate satin nickel bathroom thumb turn.

Are satin nickel door handles suitable for front doors?
Yes, but external fittings work harder. The lacquer breaks down sooner outdoors, particularly near the coast, so wipe them regularly with a non-abrasive cloth, apply a light coat of non-abrasive wax, and lightly oil springs and moving parts.

Lever handles, knobs and pull handles

Choosing Satin Nickel Door Handles

Lever handles. Handles on backplates come as latch, lock, bathroom and Euro profile versions, so match the backplate to the lock or latch in the door. Handles on rose work on any door, with a separate escutcheon or thumb turn where needed.

Knobs. Mortice knobs suit period and contemporary doors alike, and centre door knobs finish a front door.

Pull handles. Satin nickel door pull handles come as bolt through, face fix and back to back fixing, for front doors, kitchen doors and commercial doors.

Locks and latches. Heritage Brass handles are sold without locks or latches. See the York Security collection by M.Marcus for locks and latches to go behind them.

Matching, care and showrooms

Matching Satin Nickel Door Furniture

One finish for the whole door. Match the handle, escutcheon, finger plate, door stop and hinges in satin nickel, and carry it through to the kitchen and windows.

Lacquered for protection. Satin nickel is one of the Heritage Brass lacquered finishes. Wipe off dirt and watermarks with a non-abrasive cloth, and never use metal cleaners or aerosol sprays. On front doors, a light coat of non-abrasive wax and a little oil on springs and moving parts will help the lacquer last. The life of the lacquer cannot be guaranteed.

Reeded designs. Several satin nickel handles come in a reeded version. See all Heritage Brass reeded door handles.

See it in person. Heritage Brass satin nickel is on display at our Kendal and Carlisle showrooms. Trade Door Handles is part of T.H. Wiggans Ironmongery, trading since 1976.

More Satin Nickel Door Furniture Questions

Do I need a backplate handle or a rose handle?

A backplate handle has the keyhole, Euro cylinder or bathroom turn built into the plate. A rose handle sits on a small round or square rose, with a separate escutcheon or thumb turn added where needed.

Which satin nickel handle do I need for a front door?

Most front doors with a multipoint lock need a handle on a Euro profile backplate. Older front doors often use a mortice knob or centre door knob, with a door knocker and letter plate to match.

Do satin nickel door handles come in pairs?

Lever handles are usually sold as a pair for both sides of the door. Check the unit of sale on each product page.

How do I clean satin nickel door handles?

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry. Avoid metal cleaners, abrasive cleaners or aerosol sprays, as they damage the clear lacquer.

Can I get satin nickel hinges to match?

Yes. Heritage Brass makes washered, thrust bearing and parliament hinges in satin nickel to match the door handles.
