Heritage Brass - Satin Nickel Kitchen and Cabinet Hardware

Brushed Nickel Kitchen Handles, Drawer Handles and Cupboard Knobs in Satin Nickel

Heritage Brass satin nickel kitchen and cabinet hardware brings together over 340 solid brass cabinet pull handles, cupboard knobs, cup handles, edge pulls, drop handles and catches by M.Marcus. Satin nickel, often called brushed nickel, is a soft, low sheen finish with a slightly warmer grey tone than satin chrome. It suits modern, grey, white and Shaker kitchens, and sits well alongside stainless steel appliances and brushed nickel taps.

Caring for Satin Nickel Kitchen Handles

Satin nickel is one of the Heritage Brass lacquered finishes. Wipe off dirt and watermarks with a non-abrasive cloth, and never use metal cleaners or aerosol sprays, which damage the lacquer. All lacquered finishes eventually break down over time, and the life of the lacquer cannot be guaranteed.

Satin Nickel Kitchen Hardware Questions

What size kitchen handles should I choose?
Pull handles of 96mm to 160mm centres suit most wall and base units, while 192mm to 320mm suit tall doors and wide pan drawers. Measure between the existing holes if you are replacing handles.

Is satin nickel the same as brushed nickel?
The terms are often used for the same look: a nickel finish with a brushed, low sheen surface rather than a mirror shine.

Do satin nickel knobs match satin nickel pull handles?
Yes. Heritage Brass uses the same satin nickel finish across its cabinet pull handles, cupboard knobs, cup handles and edge pulls, so you can mix them in one kitchen.

What fixings come with Heritage Brass cabinet handles?
Pull handles come with M4 bolts in two lengths, and knobs come with M4 bolts, to suit different door and drawer front thicknesses.

Choosing Satin Nickel Kitchen Handles

Pull handles or knobs? Satin nickel pull handles give a firm grip on drawers and tall doors, while satin nickel cupboard knobs suit wall units, small drawers and traditional kitchens. Many kitchens use both: knobs on doors and pull handles on drawers, in the same finish.

Cup handles and edge pulls. Satin nickel cup handles are a classic choice for drawers on Shaker and classic kitchens. Satin nickel edge pulls fit over the top edge of a door or drawer for a near handleless look.

Sizing pull handles. Pull handles are sized by their fixing centres, the distance between the two bolt holes. As a guide, 96mm to 160mm suits most wall and base units, and 192mm to 320mm suits tall larder doors and wide pan drawers. If you are replacing handles, measure the existing holes and choose the same centres.

Also in satin nickel. The range includes T-bar knobs, drop handles and cabinet catches for dressers and furniture.

Style, care and matching

Satin Nickel in the Kitchen

Where satin nickel works best. The soft, warm grey tone suits modern, grey, white and Shaker kitchens, utility rooms and bathrooms, and sits well alongside stainless steel appliances and brushed nickel taps.

Satin nickel or satin chrome? Both are brushed, low sheen finishes that show fewer fingerprints than polished handles. Satin nickel is slightly warmer and softer, while satin chrome is cooler and brighter, so choose one finish for the whole kitchen.

Lacquered for protection. Satin nickel is one of the Heritage Brass lacquered finishes. Wipe off dirt and watermarks with a non-abrasive cloth, and never use metal cleaners, aerosol sprays or harsh kitchen sprays on the handles. The life of the lacquer cannot be guaranteed.

Match the whole house. Satin nickel is also made in door handles and door furniture, window furniture, hinges and accessories.

See it in person. Heritage Brass satin nickel is on display at our Kendal and Carlisle showrooms. Trade Door Handles is part of T.H. Wiggans Ironmongery, trading since 1976.

More Satin Nickel Kitchen Handle Questions

How many handles do I need for my kitchen?

Count every door and drawer front. Most people fit one handle or knob per door and one per drawer. Very wide drawers often look better with two pull handles.

Which satin nickel handles suit a Shaker kitchen?

Cup handles on the drawers and round knobs on the doors is the traditional Shaker look. For a more modern feel, use bar or T-bar pull handles on the drawers instead.

How do I clean satin nickel kitchen handles?

Wipe with a soft, damp non-abrasive cloth and dry. Do not use metal cleaners, aerosol sprays or harsh kitchen sprays, as they damage the clear lacquer.

Does satin nickel match stainless steel appliances?

They sit well together, as both have a brushed, grey look, but satin nickel is slightly warmer. Use satin nickel for all the handles and knobs in the kitchen for the closest match.

Will my handles fit the existing holes?

They will if you choose the same fixing centres as your current handles. Measure from the centre of one hole to the centre of the other and pick that size.
