Lightly Sprung Standard Duty Tubular Latches

Standard duty tubular latches are the everyday latch for internal doors that do not need to lock. They are lightly sprung, so they are designed to work alongside handles that have their own return spring built in, including most sprung lever handles on backplate and the sprung mortice knobs in the Heritage Brass range from M.Marcus.

Why a lightly sprung latch?

Pairing a sprung handle with a strongly sprung latch doubles up the spring, which makes the handle feel stiff. A lightly sprung latch keeps the action smooth and quiet. If your handles or knobs are unsprung, choose a heavy duty latch instead.

Choosing a size

2.5 inch - recommended for lever handles
3 inch - recommended for sprung mortice knobs so your knuckles clear the frame
4 inch CE version - for wider door stiles
