Heavy Duty Architectural Tubular Latches from York Security

Heavy duty tubular latches, sold by M.Marcus as York Security Architectural Tubular Latches and CE Heavy Duty Tubular Latches, carry a much stronger return spring than a standard latch. That extra spring lets the latch do the work of returning the handle, which is exactly what unsprung lever handles, unsprung mortice knobs and heavy solid brass levers need.

When should I choose a heavy duty latch?

• With unsprung lever handles on rose or backplate
• With unsprung mortice knobs, such as porcelain knobs and several Heritage Brass knob designs (use the 3 inch version)
• With long or heavy lever handles that droop on a lightly sprung latch
• On busy doors in commercial or holiday let properties where a firmer action is preferred

• Lengths: 2.5, 3, 4 and 5 inch (backsets approx. 44, 57, 82 and 107mm)
• Suits 8mm spindles
• Bolt through fixing on 3 inch and longer versions for round rose furniture
• Supplied with a dust box for the strike plate
• Latch bolt reverses for door handing simply by turning it
