From The Anvil BS3621 5 Lever Mortice Locks

British Standard 5 Lever Sash Locks and Deadlocks

Most home insurance policies ask for a British Standard lock on the final exit doors of a house. From The Anvil 5 lever mortice locks are British Standard insurance rated, and the standard and heavy duty sash locks and deadlocks carry a Kitemark to BS 3621:2007 along with UKCA and CE marks.

Choose a 5 lever sash lock where you need a latch worked by the handle, or a 5 lever deadlock for stand-alone locking. Both come in 2 1/2 inch and 3 inch sizes, keyed alike or keyed to differ.

BS3621 5 Lever Mortice Locks: Questions

What is a BS3621 lock?

BS 3621 is the British Standard for thief-resistant locks on doors that are opened with a key from both sides. Locks that meet it carry the Kitemark, and it is the standard most home insurers ask for on external doors.

What do KA and KD mean?

KA means keyed alike: several locks open with the same key. KD means keyed to differ: each lock has its own keys. From The Anvil makes many of its 5 lever locks and Euro cylinders in both versions.
