From The Anvil Mortice Deadlocks

5 Lever and Euro Profile Mortice Deadlocks

A mortice deadlock is fitted inside the edge of the door and has a single key-operated bolt and no latch. From The Anvil describes its 5 lever deadlock as ideal for stand-alone locking, and it can be fitted with any of its escutcheons.

The 5 lever deadlocks come in 2 1/2 inch and 3 inch sizes and carry a Kitemark to BS 3621:2007, UKCA and CE marks. Euro profile deadlocks take a Euro cylinder or thumbturn cylinder instead of a lever key. Most From The Anvil mortice locks and latches are CERTIFIRE approved (certificate CF5531), fire tested to FD-20/30/60 and performance tested against BS EN 12209.

Mortice Deadlocks: Questions

What do KA and KD mean?

KA means keyed alike: several locks open with the same key. KD means keyed to differ: each lock has its own keys. From The Anvil makes many of its 5 lever locks and Euro cylinders in both versions.

Is a 5 lever deadlock insurance approved?

From The Anvil 5 lever deadlocks carry a Kitemark to BS 3621:2007, the British Standard that most home insurers ask for on external doors. Always check the wording of your own policy.
