Heritage Brass Bathroom Lock Door Handles on Backplate

Lever Handles on Backplate for a Mortice Bathroom Lock

Heritage Brass bathroom lock door handles have a lever above and a turn and release below on one backplate. They are made for a mortice bathroom lock with 57mm centres: turning the snib on the inside throws a solid deadbolt into the frame, and the release on the outside, usually a coin slot, opens it in an emergency. This is the most secure way to lock a bathroom, toilet or en-suite door.

Fit them with a York Security bathroom lock or one of our mortice bathroom locks in a matching finish. If your door already has a tubular latch and you only need to stop the handle opening, Heritage Brass privacy door handles are a simpler option.

Popular bathroom lock designs

Victoria, Edwardian, Windsor, Waldorf, Sophia, Bauhaus, Octave, or the textured reeded and hammered backplate ranges. Every design matches the latch and lock versions in the full Heritage Brass door handles on backplate collection.

Bathroom Lock Handle Questions

Do bathroom lock door handles need a special lock?

Yes. They need a mortice bathroom lock with 57mm centres. Turning the snib throws a deadbolt into the door frame, and the release on the outside lets you open it in an emergency.

What is the difference between bathroom lock handles and privacy handles?

Bathroom lock handles work with a mortice bathroom lock that throws a deadbolt. Privacy handles work with a standard tubular latch and simply stop the latch being drawn back, and they usually come on a shorter plate.
