This York Security architectural heavy duty tubular latch has a strong spring that does the work of returning the handle to rest. That makes it the right latch for unsprung lever handles, unsprung mortice knobs and heavy lever handles that droop on a lightly sprung latch. The 2 1/2" size is recommended for lever handles. Note that this length does not take bolt through fixing, so use it with lever handles that screw-fix to the door.

Finish

The matt black (black enamel) faceplate lets the door edge disappear alongside black handles, black hinges and black iron door furniture, instead of flashing a bright brass or chrome plate when the door is open. The finish is applied to the visible faceplate and strike; the colour of the lock case itself may vary.
