Choose a Brass Finish

Use the filters to narrow to one finish, or shop polished brass, satin brass, antique brass or unlacquered brass letter plates on their own. Polished, satin and antique brass are lacquered to slow tarnishing; unlacquered brass is left raw to age naturally.

Choose a Size

Most houses need a 10 x 3 letter plate. For newspapers and large envelopes, choose a 12 x 4 letter plate or another large letter plate. For a quieter flap, see the gravity letter plates.

Choosing and Fitting a Letter Plate

For most houses a 10 x 3 inch letter plate is the standard choice. Choose a 12 x 4 inch plate for larger doors, offices, or if you get newspapers, magazines and lots of large envelopes. Heritage Brass letter plates are made for timber doors and bolt through the door, and an interior letter flap on the inside stops draughts.
