Steel Line Stainless Steel Door Furniture by M.Marcus

Steel Line is the stainless steel door furniture range from M.Marcus, the British door hardware manufacturer founded in 1940. It brings together lever handles on rose, pull handles, hinges, door stops, signs, push plates and accessories in satin and polished stainless steel, so you can fit out every door in an office, school, surgery, shop or modern home in one matching finish.

What is in the Steel Line Range?

Satin or Polished Stainless Steel?

Satin stainless steel has a brushed, low-glare finish that hides fingerprints, which is why it is the usual choice for busy commercial doors. Polished stainless steel is bright and mirror-like and suits contemporary homes, hotels and reception areas. Because the finish is the steel itself rather than a plating, it will not flake or wear through. Selected 22mm pull handles are also made in Type 316 stainless steel for external and coastal doors.

Completing a Door

Lever handles need a York tubular latch, or a York bathroom lock with a turn and release on toilet doors. On push and pull doors, fit a bolt fix pull on one side and a push plate on the other, and add the correct sign. Prefer a warmer look? See Heritage Brass door pull handles from the same maker.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Steel Line?
Steel Line is the stainless steel door furniture range from M.Marcus, the British manufacturer behind Heritage Brass. It includes lever handles on rose, pull handles, hinges, door stops, signs and accessories in satin and polished stainless steel.

What is the difference between bolt fix and back to back pull handles?
A bolt fix pull is a single handle fixed through the door from the opposite face, usually with a push plate on that side. Back to back pulls are fitted as a pair, one on each face, fixed through the door.

What is the difference between Type 304 and Type 316 stainless steel?
Type 304 is the standard grade for internal and sheltered doors. Type 316, often called marine grade, has better corrosion resistance and is the better choice for external, coastal and wash-down areas.

Can I use Steel Line hinges on a fire door?
The Steel Line 4 x 3 hinges are made for fire door use. Always follow the door manufacturer certification, fit the specified number of hinges and use intumescent protection where required.
