The Heritage Brass ball end espag handle (V1009L) is a lockable espagnolette window handle with a round ball end, the classic Georgian and Victorian shape. It locks with a grub screw above the handle. It is supplied with a spindle and made in left and right hand versions, each in nine finishes including unlacquered brass. Ball End Espag Handle Questions

Do I need a left hand or right hand espag handle?
Espag handles are handed, so the lever sits and turns the right way for your window. As a general guide, stand inside facing the window: if the handle is on the left with the hinges on the right, you normally need a left hand handle, and the reverse for a right hand handle. The safest check is to order the same hand as the handle you are replacing, or send us a photo and we will confirm.

Will a Heritage Brass espag handle fit my uPVC window?
Heritage Brass espag handles are made for windows with an espagnolette locking gear, including most uPVC windows. Before ordering, check three things against your existing handle: the hand, the fixing centres (the distance between the two screws) and the spindle length. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your handle and window and we will advise.

Are Heritage Brass espag handles lockable?
Yes. All three designs lock in the closed position with a grub screw: below the handle on the plain V1006L and the reeded V895L, and above the handle on the ball end V1009L. M.Marcus notes they are not security locks, so check your insurance requirements if you need an approved window lock.

Does the ball end espag handle come with a spindle?
Yes. The V1009L ball end handle is supplied with a spindle and fixing screws. Check the spindle length against your existing handle before you fit it.
