Polished Nickel Window Fittings by Heritage Brass

Heritage Brass polished nickel window furniture by M.Marcus is 41 solid brass fittings for casement, sash, espagnolette and fanlight windows, in the same finish as Heritage Brass polished nickel door handles. It suits period homes, sash windows and white or pale painted joinery.

Polished Nickel, a Living Finish

Polished nickel is nickel plating on highly polished brass, with a bright shine and a gentle golden undertone that is warmer than polished chrome. The nickel finish is not coated, so it will oxidise naturally. Buff it regularly with a soft cloth to keep it bright. If it is not regularly buffed, the nickel plate will subtly change over time, taking on an aged patina.

Polished Nickel Window Furniture Questions

Is polished nickel window furniture solid brass?
Yes. Every Heritage Brass window fitting by M.Marcus is nickel plating on highly polished solid brass.

Can I match polished nickel window furniture to my door handles?
Yes. Heritage Brass window furniture uses the same polished nickel finish as Heritage Brass door handles and door furniture. Choose polished nickel throughout, as it looks warmer than polished chrome side by side.

Which fittings do I need for a casement window?
Most casement windows need a casement fastener to close the window, a casement stay to hold it open, and a stay pin. Espagnolette windows use a handed espag handle instead of a fastener.

Which fittings do I need for a sash window?
A sash fastener where the two sashes meet, a pair of sash lifts or a sash ring to open the lower sash, and sash stops if you want to limit how far it opens.
