Heritage Brass Fitch Pattern Sash Fasteners

Fitch Sash Window Fasteners in Solid Brass

The Fitch pattern fastener is the classic sash window catch. Its curved hook and cam pull the meeting rails tight as you turn it, closing the gap between the sashes and keeping out draughts and rattles. Heritage Brass makes it in a standard and a lockable version, each in nine finishes including unlacquered brass. Part of the Heritage Brass sash window fasteners range.

Standard or Lockable

• Fitch pattern sash fastener (V2060): the traditional non locking Fitch fastener.
• Lockable Fitch pattern sash fastener (V2060L): the same design with a key lock. See all lockable sash fasteners.

Complete the Window

Add two sash lifts to the bottom rail, or a pair of sash rings, and a pair of locking sash stops. Prefer a different action? See Brighton sash fasteners or hook plate sash fasteners. Compare every brand in our Fitch fasteners range.

Fitch Fastener Questions

What is a Fitch fastener?
A Fitch fastener is a traditional sash window catch with a curved hook and cam. As you turn the lever, the cam pulls the two meeting rails together, which seals the gap and stops the sashes rattling.

Is the Fitch fastener available in unlacquered brass?
Yes. Both the V2060 and the lockable V2060L are made in unlacquered brass, as well as eight lacquered and plated finishes.

Are lockable sash fasteners a security lock?
The lockable Heritage Brass fasteners lock with a key, so the sashes cannot be released from inside without it. They are not insurance rated window locks, so for ground floor or easily reached windows add a pair of locking sash stops as well.

Will unlacquered brass sash window furniture tarnish?
Yes, by design. Unlacquered brass has no protective coating, so it darkens and develops a natural patina over time. Polish it with brass polish to keep it bright, or leave it to age.
