Polished Nickel, a Living Finish

Polished nickel is nickel plating on highly polished brass, with a bright shine and a gentle golden undertone that is warmer than polished chrome. The nickel finish is not coated, so it will oxidise naturally. Buff it regularly with a soft cloth to keep it bright. If it is not regularly buffed, the nickel plate will subtly change over time, taking on an aged patina.

What is the difference between a barrel bolt and a flush bolt?
A barrel bolt is surface fixed onto the face of the door. A flush bolt is recessed into the door edge so it sits level with the surface, often used on the fixed leaf of double doors.

What is a cabin hook used for?
A cabin hook holds a door, gate or shutter open or closed. The hook fixes to one side and the eye to the other.

How do I look after polished nickel coat hooks?
Buff them regularly with a soft cloth. The nickel is not coated, so without buffing it will subtly take on an aged patina over time.
