Heritage Brass Unlacquered Hardware

Heritage Brass Unlacquered Hardware - A Timeless Living Brass Finish

Heritage Brass Unlacquered Hardware offers a traditional solid brass finish designed to age naturally over time. Also known as raw or uncoated brass, this distinctive living finish develops a rich patina through everyday use, creating depth, warmth, and character that cannot be replicated by coated finishes.

Introduced at the end of 2025, this collection includes unlacquered door furniture, window furniture, and kitchen and cabinet hardware, making it ideal for period homes, restoration projects, and high-end interiors. Suitable for residential, commercial, and architectural specifications, with quick nationwide delivery across the UK including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Kendal, the Lake District, and Carlisle.

Natural Patina, Restorable Finish

Unlacquered brass hardware reacts naturally with air, moisture, and touch, evolving from a soft golden tone into a darker, characterful patina. For those who prefer a brighter appearance, the original lustre can be restored at any time using a standard brass polish.

Heritage Brass Unlacquered Hardware Explained

A Living Brass Finish for Doors, Windows, and Cabinetry

Heritage Brass Unlacquered Hardware is manufactured from solid brass and left intentionally uncoated to allow the metal to age naturally. Often referred to as raw brass or a living finish, unlacquered brass reacts with air, moisture, and everyday use, developing a rich, organic patina that enhances its heritage character over time.

This finish is especially popular in period properties, farmhouse kitchens, restoration projects, and high-end architectural interiors where authenticity and longevity are key. Unlike lacquered brass, which can crack, peel, or discolour as coatings break down, unlacquered brass ages evenly and can always be restored using a quality metal polish if a brighter appearance is preferred.

The collection spans multiple product categories, allowing a consistent finish throughout a property. This includes Architectural Ironmongery, traditional Door Furniture, matching Window Furniture, and coordinating Kitchen and Cabinet Hardware.

To complete a specification, the finish can also be paired with Architectural Accessories, precision-engineered Hinges, and compatible Locks and Latches.
