York Security Polished Brass Locks and Latches

Polished Brass York Locks, Latches and Night Latches

Polished brass is the classic bright gold finish for traditional front doors and period interiors. These York Security locks and latches by M.Marcus have polished brass faceplates, so the edge of the door matches polished brass handles, knobs and Heritage Brass door furniture.

What Is Available in Polished Brass?

Matching Your Door Furniture

Pair these locks with Heritage Brass polished brass door handles and knobs, handles on backplates, escutcheons and polished brass hinges, and for the front door a door knocker and letterbox. The Heritage Brass page of polished brass thumbturns and privacy locks has the matching bathroom turn, rack bolt and sliding door privacy set. Remember that the handles are sold without locks or latches: use a tubular latch with latch handles, a sash lock with lock handles, a euro sash lock with euro handles and a bathroom lock or deadbolt with bathroom handles or a thumb turn. Polished Brass Lock Questions

Which York locks are available in polished brass?
Standard and architectural tubular latches from 2 1/2 to 5 inch, bathroom locks and tubular bathroom deadbolts, 3 lever and BS3621 5 lever sash locks and deadlocks, euro profile sash locks, 40mm and 60mm night latches including a roller bolt version, and a tubular latch rebate kit.

Do I need a latch or lock as well as my handles?
Yes. M.Marcus and Heritage Brass handles are sold without locks or latches, so choose a York latch or lock to suit the handle type.

Which lock do I need for a front door?
Most timber front doors use a BS3621 5 lever sash lock or deadlock, which is the standard many home insurers ask for, often with a night latch above it. Check your policy wording before you buy.

What does the 2 1/2 or 3 inch size mean?
It is the case size of the lock or latch. The backset, from the door edge to the centre of the handle or keyhole, is usually a little less, so choose the size that suits your door stile and handle.
